Stages of the Gorges Xpress Motorcycle Route
Day 0. Barcelona
Participants will arrive in Barcelona and be welcomed at our facilities. After introductions and the distribution of materials, we will assign motorcycles to those who have reserved a rental bike. We’ll spend the afternoon getting to know each other, reviewing the route, and answering any questions during the welcome briefing. A relaxed first meeting before the adventure begins.
Day 1. Barcelona – Carcassonne
The first stretch of highway takes us across the border. We’ll take secondary roads to Sant Pau de Fenollet, the starting point of the little-known Galamús Gorges, which are just 5 km long. We’ll continue on to the walled city of Carcassonne, where we’ll spend the night on this first day. Visit to the Cité.
Day 2. Carcassonne - Tarn
We leave Carcassonne behind and head into the Montagne Noire, on our way to historic Massamet. We’ll travel through the region, stopping at various points of interest along the way, as we make our way to Millau, known for its viaduct over the Tarn River. A few kilometers further on, we enter these vast gorges along the Tarn to spend the night in a charming villa.
Day 3. Tarn – Avignon
In the morning, we’ll explore the hidden corners of these gorges before heading to the walled city of Avignon to spend the night there.
Day 4. Avignon – Verdon
We’ll leave the hotel early in the morning to climb the legendary Mont Ventoux pass, the finish line for many stages of the Tour de France. On the descent, we’ll cross the Nesque River Gorges. We’ll travel along national highways to Hanesque, the gateway to Provence’s vast lavender fields. We’ll spend the night at the foot of the Verdon Gorges.
Day 5. Verdón – Verdón
A circular route where we’ll ride along the outer edge of the Verdón Gorges, climb up to the Cians Gorges and the spectacular Daluis Gorges, and then descend back into the Verdón Gorges on the inner side—a day you’ll never forget.
Day 6. Verdón – Hérault
We’ll cross the lavender fields once again to quickly reach the coastal area of the Camargue. Just past Montpellier, we’ll enter the Hérault Gorges from the north, where we’ll spend the night.
Day 7. Hérault – Barcelona
We’ll enjoy the views of the Hérault Gorges as we head back to Spain on secondary roads. We’re scheduled to arrive in Barcelona this afternoon.
