Mythical Alps is a comprehensive motorcycle vacation experience, designed according to the Soul Riders philosophy of slowriding: traveling without rushing, savoring every mile as an essential part of the journey. It’s not a short getaway or a string of connected routes; it’s real time dedicated to experiencing motorcycling at its finest. Over the course of more than three weeks, we’ll traverse the French Riviera, the French, Italian, Swiss, and Austrian Alps, and the Dolomites, combining legendary mountain passes, iconic roads, and moments of pause that transform the journey into a life-changing experience. Ride, stop, look, share, and set off again with a new perspective.
The adventure begins the moment you arrive at Soul Riders. You pick up your motorcycles, get a first look at the group, and feel that something big is about to begin. A thorough briefing, final questions, and initial conversations already set the tone for the trip.
We left Barcelona behind and gradually settled into travel mode. The road took us along open highways and through villages in the south of France until we really felt the change of pace. Arles and Aix-en-Provence offered the first cultural contrast before we reached the French Riviera.
A leisurely drive along the Mediterranean coast. Antibes, Nice, Èze, and Monaco make for a scenic, relaxing day—perfect for getting into the travel groove.
The road begins to change. The sea fades into the distance and the mountains come into view. The Col de Turini marks the first real challenge of the trip, with curves that hint at what’s to come. We cross borders with a sense of true adventure until we reach Italy.
A day of pure Alpine essence. Every mountain pass tells a story: Valcavera, Sampeyre, Agnello, Izoard. The motorcycle becomes part of the landscape. There’s no rush, just the flow of the road, curves, and altitude. One of those days you’ll remember long after it’s over.
The Colle delle Finestre sets the tone for the day: demanding and technical. After that, the pace changes as the route descends toward Turin and enters Milan. It’s the perfect contrast between the rugged mountains and the bustling city.
A day to slow down. Take a stroll, explore the city, enjoy a coffee without watching the clock, and let your body process the experience. Travel is just as enjoyable when you’re not on the road.
We return to the winding roads as we enter Lake Como. The road becomes more scenic, slower, and more beautiful. The Passo Gavia takes us back into the high mountains, with a final stretch that already hints at what’s to come.
The Stelvio Pass is one of those moments everyone looks forward to. Long, iconic, unforgettable. Afterward, South Tyrol takes us through a gentler but equally spectacular landscape until we reach Carezza.
The Dolomites in all their glory. Pordoi, Giau, Cortina… every turn brings a new vista. Roads that seem designed to be enjoyed, not just to get you there. The route ends in the Tre Cime area.
We enter Austria and the landscape opens up. The Grossglockner is the highlight of the day: altitude, ice, vastness, and a perfect road. We end up by Lake Zell am See with the feeling of having been on a great journey.
Another milder day, but just as beautiful. Valleys, waterfalls, and smooth roads all the way to Innsbruck. The free afternoon is perfect for strolling and letting the trip take its course.
A day to unwind, recharge, and just be. Coffee, walks, and mountains all around. Travel is also about those quiet moments.
We’re back to the intensity of the Alps. The Passo del Rombo kicks off a long, varied, and very challenging stage. The Stelvio reappears as a reminder of what we’re experiencing.
Switzerland at its finest. Albula, Oberalp, Furka, Grimsel… roads that seem to have been handcrafted. Every bend reveals a new landscape. Arriving in Interlaken means arriving at the heart of the journey.
Lakes, mountains, and complete tranquility. A day to reflect on how far we’ve come and appreciate the scope of the journey.
The Great St. Bernard Pass brings us back to Italy. A long, smooth stage, with a constant transition between countries, valleys, and cultures.
A day of back-to-back Alpine classics. Madeleine, Télégraphe, and Galibier make for one of the most well-rounded days of the entire trip.
Izoard, Vars, and La Bonette. Three names that capture the essence of motorcycling through the Alps: intensity, altitude, and nonstop excitement.
Silence, nature, and relaxation. A day to reconnect with the experience.
A cultural transition into the south of France. Millau and its surroundings lead the way to the fortified city of Carcassonne.
We’re back in mountainous terrain. The French Pyrenees and a gradual return home, with a sense of having come full circle.
Last day on the road. The Pre-Pyrenees gently accompany us all the way to Barcelona. It’s a return, but also a different way of coming home.
Farewell to the group and the conclusion of the experience. The end of the trip isn’t experienced as an ending, but as the beginning of new friendships forged on the road and future reunions on upcoming Soul Riders routes. The experience continues beyond the miles, with the spirit of slowriding as the bond that connects us all.
